Ms. Greene (K-010)
Hello, my name is Becky Greene. I was born in NYC, grew up on Long Island, and have lived in Ann Arbor, MI, Boston, San Francisco and Toulouse, France.
I currently teach Kindergarten here at PS 111. I have been teaching in the early childhood grades for 23 years. I began my career in Head Start, and have been with the NYC public schools for the last 14 years. I adore teaching in the early childhood grades! I believe that the best environment for learning is one filled with loving, nurturing, fun, and stimulating work and a collaborative community of learners. I bring the following interests to my work in the classroom: a love of reading and writing, the arts, math, block-building, science, theater and music, as well as a sincere enjoyment of laughter, silliness and play!
Outside of school, I enjoy hanging with my elderly mom, snuggling with my kitties, biking, yoga, singing and dancing, talking about issues of the day, cooking, ceramics, knitting, and reading and watching movies and tv shows. I especially love watching movies in the movie theater and can’t wait to get back to doing that! I love coming to work every day with the knowledge that children, families, teachers and everyone in the school community are always learning and growing together.

I started teaching at PS111 5 years ago in September 2017. I taught 5th Grade ICT my first year and have since taught the K/1 12:1:1 class for the past 4 years.
I love spending time with my family and friends, and especially my adorable 1-year-old dog, Bella!
