
Inclement Weather Arrival and Dismissal
On days when it is raining, snowing, sleeting, icing……
Arrival
PreK arrival remains the same. Please enter through 52nd Street and go directly to your classroom through the yard
Kindergarten: Please use the main entrance on 53rd Street. Students will be directed to the cafeteria by P.S. 111 staff
1st Grade: Please use the main entrance on 53rd Street. Students will be directed to the cafeteria by P.S. 111 staff
2nd Grade: Please use the main entrance on 53rd Street. Students will be directed to the cafeteria by P.S. 111 staff
Grades 3, 4, and 5: Between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. – students will use the main entrance on 53rd Street and will be directed to the cafeteria. They will eat breakfast prior to going to the auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Between 8:00 and 8:10, students who eat breakfast will go to the cafeteria before the auditorium. Students who do not eat breakfast will go directly to the auditorium
Between 8:10 and 8:20 all students will go directly to the auditorium
Dismissal
PreK and Kindergarten students will be picked-up in their classrooms
Grades 1 and 2 will be picked-up in the cafeteria
Grades 3, 4, and 5 will be picked-up in the auditorium (or walk home alone if the school has a permission slip)

DAILY ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES (non inclement weather days)
Morning Arrival
Our youngest students will use a dedicated arrival and dismissal area in the small yard with an entrance on 52nd Street.
Pre-Kindergarten students will use the doors from the small yard to enter directly into the classroom.
Kindergarten students line-up in the small yard for arrival and dismissal. Please note that if your Kindergarten child will eat breakfast in the cafeteria, he/she will remain there until the gates are opened for arrival. Please use the front entrance for breakfast.
Afternoon Dismissal
Pre-Kindergarten students will dismiss from their classroom into the yard.
Kindergarten students will line-up by class with their teacher beginning at 2:35
Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5
Morning Arrival
Students in these grades will enter the large schoolyard through the gate on 53rd Street. Please do not use the 52nd Street gate to enter the yard. Parents/Guardians are invited to escort their children into the yard for the start of the year.
All families will be asked to exit through the 52nd Street gate. We ask you to please help us maintain a safe environment in which we can monitor all students by not exiting through the 53rd Street gate.
Families are kindly reminded to help us build student independence and to assist in a smooth arrival time by quickly exiting the yard once students are called for line-up.

Students will be brought to the large yard. Students in upper-elementary with permission to leave unescorted will be dismissed first. Parents/Guardians who are picking up their child will enter through the 53rd Street gate.
