Ms. Hanson (101)

Courtney Hanson is part of the ICT first grade team at PS 111. She holds her MSEd from Hunter College in Special Education and her Bachelor’s in Childhood Education from Concordia College. Although Courtney is fairly new to the PS 111 community, she has worked as an elementary school teacher in Manhattan for seven years. She loves to read, cook, and spend time with her family. Courtney believes that her role as a teacher is to teach and connect with all children on multiple levels.

Ms. Romero (102)
Hi everyone! I'm Esther Romero! I've been teaching at PS 111 for 8 years in the Gifted and Talented Program. My passion for education came later in life for me. I had just turned 30 and wanted to change my life. I decided to go back to Graduate School at Hofstra University to study Childhood Education. I did my student teaching work in Gifted and Talented classes, that is where my passion grew. I decided to become certified in Gifted and Talented education and set my sights for PS 111. I feel lucky coming into work knowing I have the dream job, working with amazing teachers, surrounded by the most caring and amazing students a teacher could ask for! I look forward to meeting you all soon! Check out my 1st Grade Website!

Ms. Hernandez & Mr. Serata (103)
Hello! My name is Ms Hernandez.  PS 111 has been my home away from home for 15 years!  In that time, I've enjoyed teaching classes from Pre-K to 3rd grade, and have always had a passion for teaching little ones how to read.  As an educator, there's nothing more exciting than seeing a child's eyes brighten because they've learned something from you💜
